BRONZE medalist in 2013 and silver medalist in 2010, Eritrea’s Teklemariam Medhin hopes to complete the set at this month’s IAAF World Cross Country Championships, Guiyang 2015.

Eritrea’s Medhin Bags His Third Successive Victory for January in Elgoibar

BRILLIANT. For Eritrea’s super star Teklemariam Medhin, January was a brilliant month with three successive victories: in San Sebastian, Seville and now in Elgoibar.

TEKLEMARIAM Medhin of Eritrea confirmed his status of favourite to pull out a convincing victory at the 72th Cross Internacional Juan Muguerza, the sixth of this winter’s IAAF Cross Country Permit meetings, in the Spanish town Elgoibar on Sunday (25).

Unlike last weekend’s gruelling conditions in Seville, the sun shone on Elgoibar and there was little wind although some parts of the circuit were quite muddy due to the rain that had fallen throughout the week and even the night before. Teklemariam Medhin Took Victory at the 33rd Cross Internacional de Italica

The long-legged Eritrean, Teklemariam Medhin, beat the 10.8km event in Santiponce (Seville) after his commanding win at the Cross Internacional de San Sebastian last Sunday.

ERITREA’s Teklemariam Medhin captured a brilliant victory at the 33rd Cross Internacional de Italica – the second Spanish leg of this season’s IAAF Cross Country Permit series – on Sunday (18) held under gruelling conditions with rain, gusts of wind of up to 60km/h and underfoot mud in some areas of the circuit.

TWO-time IAAF world Cross Country Championships medallist Teklemariam Medhin, from Eritrea, handed Uganda’s Timothy Toroitich a rare defeat this winter at the 60th edition of the Cross Internacional de San Sebastian at the Lasarte racecourse on Sunday (11).

In his last cross country race six weeks ago in Soria, Medhin finished a close second to Toroitich but the former turned the tables on his in-form rival, who has won four races on Spanish soil this winter. Eritrean athlete Teklemariam Medhin displayed his excellence and domination at the 2nd CAA African Cross Country Championships that was held on Sunday (18) in Cape Town, South Africa, where athletes from 19 countries competed.

Teklemariam Medhin is one of the Eritreans that was expected to be a thorn in the flesh of team South Africa.
