The armyworm that has been observed in some part of the country has been under control.
Mr. Tedros Seium, head of the migration pests control, indicated that the army worm has been observed in 150 hectares in the Gash Barka region, in 800 hectares in the Anseba region, 2,000 hectares in the Southern region and in 5,000 hectares in the Central region.

Saudi Arabia continues to provides Eritrea with assistance to combat desert locusts

The Ministries of Agriculture of Eritrea and Saudi Arabia concluded an agreement on August 30th regarding assistance of anti-desert locust pesticides.
The signing ceremony was held at the head office of the Ministry of Agriculture.
The agreement includes the provision of 20 thousand liters of anti-locust pesticides as part of the precaution measures to be taken in case of the prevalence of the desert locust in the region due to the abundant rainy season.

SECURED. Saudi Arabia donation to Eritrea for combating desert locust swarms
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has recently sent corporate assistance worth $300,000 to Eritrea to combat locust swarms.
The assistance, which also includes eleven tons of pesticides and two transport vehicles, was delivered by Saudi acting Charge’ D’Affaires in Asmara Shadeed bin Hamid Al-Sahali and representatives of the Ministry of Finance of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
