Dr. Tadesse Biru Kersmo, a member of the Ethiopian opposition movement Patriotic Ginbot 7, has been acquitted of all charges of terrorism by a UK court.
A member of an Ethiopian opposition movement banned by the Ethiopian regime has been acquitted of all charges of terrorism following a three week trial at Snaresbrook Crown Court.
Tadesse Kersmo is a member of Ginbot 7 (now Patriotic Ginbot 7), set up after the 2005 elections when all those who won seats for the opposition were not allowed to take up their seats.

A leader of a self organized armed group says Ethiopians have no option other than waging armed struggle to free themselves from the TPLF’s brutal misrule.
Gobe Melke, in an exclusive interview with ESAT, said his forces have engaged regime forces last week and inflicted major damage in Northern Ethiopia in a gun battle that lasted for five hours.
Melke said his group works in tandem with Patriotic Ginbot 7, an armed group operating from its base in Eritrea. PG7’s military companies operating inside Ethiopia have also been fighting regime forces in recent months.

Going forward. A breakthrough agreement has been signed to form a military alliance between the Oromo Democratic Front (ODF) and Patriotic Ginbot 7 for Unity and Democracy (PG7)
