Eritrean runners dominates the 2015 Austrian mountain running championship with Abrham Kidane, Petro Mamo and Yosief Tekle finish 1st, 2nd and 4th respectively.

Eritrea’s Abraham Kidane was the victor at the Asitzgipfelberglauf in the Austrian municipality of Leogang on Sunday (6). Many of the world’s top mountain runners had chosen the fourth WMRA World Cup race as their final test before the World Mountain Running Championships.

#Dauphine Stage-2: Teklehaimanot Extends Lead in Mountains Classification

Eritrean Daniel Teklehaimanot keeps the polka dot jersey at the second day of the Criterium du Dauphine 2015 race by securing maximum points of 25 at the top of the climb

AFTER pulling on the King of the Mountains leaders’ jersey at the end of yesterday’s opening Criterium du Dauphine stage, Daniel Teklehaimanot would find the break of the day again on today’s 2nd stage and he would extend his lead in the polka dot jersey competition.

With the stage starting immediately on a category 2 climb, it was another good opportunity for Daniel to collect a few more points towards the polka dot jersey. Daniel made his move from the gun and there would be two riders that would follow him. Azarya Weldemariam Won the Harakiri Mountain Race

The rising new Mountain Runner star – Azarya Weldemariam of Eritrea

Azarya Weldemariam from Eritrea won the fourth edition of the Harakiri Mountain Race in Mayrhofen on 5 August.

270 athletes from more than 20 nations travelled to Mayrhofen to take on the challenge in wonderful weather conditions. The runners battled it out to the finishing line over a distance of 10.4 km and 1,170m in altitude. Weldemariam, last year’s winner in the men’s race, retained his crown with a time of 52:02.30.
