The amazing adventure of Daniel Teklehaimanot of Eritrea, an alumnus of the World Cycling Centre, continues.

On Thursday (25) he won his first event in the UCI Europe Tour, the Prueba Villafranca de Ordizia-Clásica de Ordizia in Spain, with the Orica-GreenEdge professional cycling team, beating Spanish riders Ángel Madrazo (Movistar Team) and David Arroyo (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA).  Continue reading First European win for Daniel Teklehaimanot

Cyclist Merhawi Kudus Continues to conquer Europe

The 19 year old Eritrean cyclist from UCI have started to make waves in Europe after making successive wins in France and Italy.

On Sunday, July 7, Merhawi Kudus wins the fourth and final stage of the Tour de Côte d’Or that took place between Dijon and Saint-Jean-de-Losne in France to become the overall leader.

Triumphed by his first ever European title win, Merhawi demonstrated his unrelenting talent on Sunday, July 21, by sprinting to victory in the dramatic final lap of the 155.8 km tournament in Italy.

Eritrea Set to Win the 2012 African Cycling Championship with a Style

Africa’s undeterred cycling giant, Eritrea, has vowed to win what is going to be its third consecutive continental cycling championship that is planned to be held in Ouagadougou – Burkina Faso from November 6 to 11.

The seven men strong road cycling team will consist of the famous four professional cyclists as well as three other local talents by the name of Natnael Berhane (Europcar), Daniel Teklehaymanot (GreenEdge), Tesfom Okbamariam (Zoba Debub), Bereket Yemane (ASBECO), Meron Teshome (ASBECO), Frekalsi Debesai (MTN) and Janni Tewolde (MTN).  Continue reading Eritrea Set to Win the 2012 African Cycling Championship with a Style
