We are into the business end of the CECAFA U-15 as the semi-finals kick-off. This tournament has been explosive, in the group stages, as we saw host nation Eritrea succumb to a shock defeat to surprise packages of the tournament Burundi, before the hosts went on to play some exhibition football against Sudan and Kenya, while resoundingly beating the former, it wasn’t enough to beat Kenya in a packed and noisy atmosphere at Stadium Asmara. CECAFA U15: Match Day 4 Recap

A brace from Mutyaba Travis in each half of the match sees Uganda beat Tanzania 2-0, making it two out of two for the Cranes.

The CECAFA under-15 tournament currently underway in Asmara, Eritrea is beginning to take shape with the boy’s competition heading into its fourth day of matches. Monday saw Uganda take on Tanzania.

Eritrea to Host CECAFA’s First Ever U-15 Football Competition

This will be the second time Eritrea hosting CECAFA competitions.

The Council for East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) has handed Eritrea the rights to host CECAFA’s first-ever U-17 tournament from August 17 to September 1.

Cecafa to Host First Ever Under-15 Regional Tournament in Eritrea

CECAFA will host it’s first ever Under-15 regional football tournament in Eritrea, in August.

Council for East and Central Africa Football Association [CECAFA] will host it’s first ever Under-15 regional tournament in Eritrea.

CECAFA in Ethiopia and Why Eritrea is not Participating

It is so disgusting to see certain media outlets and news services like AP so obsessed with why Eritrea is not attending the 2015 CECAFA (Central and Eastern Confederation of African Football) tournament being held in Ethiopia. Al Jazeera’s football section and Fox sports, both opposite side of the American political arena, when it comes to politics write “Ethiopia bars Eritrea from African football tournament” or “Host Ethiopia won’t allow Eritrea at East African tournament.”

Has it ever occurred to them that Ethiopia is currently occupying sovereign Eritrean territories? Are they that crazy to think that Eritrea, even if its players were to leave, would send its team into Ethiopian territory with a regime in place that has abused the power of its own people and still occupies an internationally arbitrated border town?
