ጽባሕ ቀዳም መበል 15 ውድድር ሻምፕዮን ኣትለቲክስ ዓለም መጋረጃኡ ኣብ በይጂንግ ቻይና ክቕንጥጥ እዩ። ሃገራዊት ጋንታ ኤርትራ ንኣስታት ክልተ ኣዋርሕ ብሓባር ተጠርኒፋ ነዚ ውድድር ኣብ ምድላዋት እያ ጸኒሓ። ንኣትለታትና ድማ ዓወት ንምነየሎም።

ባሕ ቀዳም መበል 15 ውድድር ሻምፕዮን ኣትለቲክስ ዓለም መጋረጃኡ ክቕንጥጥ እዩ። ሃገራዊት ጋንታ ኣትለቲክስ ኤርትራ 18 ነሓሰ ሰዓት 4፡00 ወጋሕታ ናብ በይጂንግ ቻይና ኣምሪሓ። ኣብ ቀዳማይ ጉጅለ ጉዕዞኣ፡ ንኣሰልጣኒ ኢሰያስ ኣሰፋው፡ ኣትለታት ማራቶን በራኺ በየነ፡ ግርማይ ገብረሰላሰን ኣማኑኤል መሰልን፡ ኣብ ውድድር 10,000 ሜትሮ ዝሳተፉ ኣትለታት ተኽለማርያም መድሕን፡ ንጉሰ ኣምለሶምን ኣብራር ዑስማንን ዝሓቖፈት እያ።

Eritrean National Team Leaves for Beijing World Championships

The Bird’s Nest stadium in Beijing will be hosting the 15th World Athletics Championships, which will commence in less than 10 days. The event is scheduled to be held from the 22nd to the 30th August 2015 in Beijing, China.

More than 2000 athletes from more than 200 nations, including Eritrea, are expected to compete in the Chinese capital. After a tough training session, Eritrean athletes are now all set to take part in the championships and manifest their capacities. Eritrean Runner Breaks Colfax Half Marathon Record

Athlete Hais Welday wins the 10th Denver Colfax Half Marathon in a record time of 1:06:44

HAIS Welday of Eritrea, who came to Denver a week ago, won the 10th annual Colfax Half Marathon race in one hour, 6 minutes, 44 seconds to break the record set in 2012 by Patrick Rizzo by a minute and 25 seconds.

Eritrea’s Teklemariam Medhin Achieves Rare Hat-Trick in San Sebastian Cross Country Race

Teklemariam Medhin Becomes the First Runner in 47 Years to Score Three Wins in the San Sebastian Cross Country Race. Congratulations and best wishes.

TWO-time IAAF world Cross Country Championships medallist Teklemariam Medhin, from Eritrea, handed Uganda’s Timothy Toroitich a rare defeat this winter at the 60th edition of the Cross Internacional de San Sebastian at the Lasarte racecourse on Sunday (11).

In his last cross country race six weeks ago in Soria, Medhin finished a close second to Toroitich but the former turned the tables on his in-form rival, who has won four races on Spanish soil this winter. Samuel Tsegay Wins ‘Villa de Quintanar’ Cross-Country

WORLD half-marathon silver medallist Samuel Tsegay from Eritrea ran to a commanding victory in testing conditions at the 33rd edition of the Cross Nacional Castellano-Manchego in Quintanar on Sunday (14).

Tsegay, who ran a half-marathon lifetime best of 59:21 to win the silver medal in Copenhagen, made his strength show on a muddy course by taking the lead from the start of the 10km race.

In the end, Tsegay won by almost a minute. In wet conditions, he crossed the finish line in 30:10 to defeat Girma Asmedirmicke from Ethiopia by 51 seconds with Jesus Nunez third on home soil in 31:21. Continue reading Samuel Tsegay Wins ‘Villa de Quintanar’ Cross-Country

Four Ethiopian Track Team Members Abscond in USA

Athletes seeking asylum from unstable areas have historically used athletic tournaments to leave their country

FOUR members of an Ethiopian track team were reported missing Saturday morning in Eugene where they competed in the IAAF World Junior Championships.

“The individuals left campus ahead of the rest of the team,” said Julie Brown, University of Oregon spokeswoman.

The Ethiopian region is under intense political upheaval, and athletes seeking asylum from unstable areas have historically used athletic tournaments to leave their country.
