    1. Where is our constitution · Edit

No congress, no parliament, no nothing!! One individual can sign whatever agreements he wants to sign on behalf of 5 million people, or whatever territories he feels leasing. Just one person! Sad!

      1. In stupid Africa that is the way out, stupid. I take less-corrupted Eritrean system, any time and every time than your dedebit parliament and the laughing stock of your stupid democratic system.

      3. Eritreans are not a nation of sheep, smart ,intelligent, politically savy people, you are undermining and insulting the whole nation.when things are not right, there are no ferocious people than the Eritreans. There are a lot of countries with a congress, parliament and constitution who have no say in the affairs of their country (Pseudo Democracy) ,thank God Eritreans we trust PIA to the core, unlike you and the mercenary elements who sleep with the enemy. The man loves his country, his people and no billions in off-shore banks. In other words shut-up and watch the CLASSIC ERITREAN SHOW.

          1. LOL … you are at least a “Nice” person, you could have gone all the way saying Lion dea Yib’Laekha” — you actually made my night, the best I have heard in 2017.

      4. Bla bla bla …. Get a life and do something useful before you die asking constitution … I bet you are considered another nigger in your adopted country with all the “human rights and constitution” in your face.

        1. Economics or democracy? i don’t think they know what the difference is. In the adopted country., get the speeding ticket and its “yes sir! thank you sir!”. Get a speeding ticket in Eritrea its the state is oppressing me, LOL. its completely comical.

      5. You only have your self to blame, you left the country,if you stayed your ideas may have count. now shut up and keep on living the way you always did.

      6. President Isaias yearly plan
        1. Visit Sudan, Qatar, Egypt, UAE in no particular order
        2. promise a new constitution
        3. Make few impulsive decisions
        4. Micromanage a few dams
        5. Expect a big change, if change comes good otherwise blame woyane
        6 Repeat 1-5

        1. Be fair, tell us what you do everyday for your people, the Ugumesh.
Isaias never begged for what he has… he achieved what he wanted …unlike you, a complainer.
Isaias give us our constitution, our daily bread, bla bla bla… so sickening grown ass people who never put any effort to help, but become champions in complaining.

        2. #2 correction., There is a new constitution in the works it will be presented when it is complete and the timing is right. What part of that is a promise. Its not in our culture to promise anyone anything in Eritrea. A promise is only a comfort to a fool bro. They promised us to enforce the border decisions against ethiopia. It is still occupying our lands till this day. But we didn’t settle for the promise we settled for peace and a clear cut court ruling. If you really call your self Eritrean worry about your countries territorial integrity before you start spouting off nonsense about a document. They said all men are created equal in the usa. The blacks got the right to vote in 1963 and well… the equality part.., they are still working on that even after a “so called” black president who is the greatest gay rights president in history. Peace.

          1. hawi55, thank you brother for a good challenge. What is sad is you will never hear “Neud” complaining on the broken promise of EEBC ruling by UN and USA. You are nice enough to challenge him politely …Thank for your patience.

        3. Woyane PM Yearly Plan
          1) Threat of war with Eritrea
          2) Kill Oromo and Amhara youth protesters
          3) Embezzle public money worth $12 billion
          4) Beg for food aid
          5) Move factories from other regions to Tigray
          6) Block ESAT and other radio/TV stations
          7) Arrest & torture so opposition groups
          8) Troll Eritrean sites

List is long. To continue tomorrow…

      7. What kind constitution are you talking about? The Constitution that came from Western and your Democracy is laugh at ,Even the Susan rice can’t stop laughing 100% election.Hahahahahahahah.

      8. Any problem with that yaa Agame? We, Eritreans delegated this hero to sign on our behalf whatever he sees right…do you have any issue with that you stupid agame? kmalam, ikekam werada agame. Mind your own business.

    2. May be Emirates Air will start flying to Eritrea after PIA’s trip to Abu Dhabi and meeting with The Crown Prince. Emirates is a world class airline just like Qatar Airways and Turkish Air. Emirates is a very very good airline.

      1. Selamat Barca;
        A most likely scenario….
The serious Cooperation Agreement that PIA gave hint but kept classified, last year (Dec 2015 Interview)most likely will kick-start in 2017(Massawa and Aseb Ports Development,Free Trade Zones, Renovation and Expansion of the Asmera Airport…Development of Energy Sector(G & O Exp included) etc—were among others….anticipated to be materialized in 2017.
Tourism and Fishing industries(easy $$) will be given a Top priority along with Energy Sector Development.

        1. We will soon get a clue of this business trip and other developments around in the coming weeks. President will give his new year’s interview with the national media.

          1. I am willing to bet you good folks that PIA is going to tell us something we don’t know, not the usual “We plan to do it in the future” for there is always a ‘future’ to a ‘future’.
This is what I expect him to state in a set of concrete and firm statements:
            1) A positive progress report on the the state of the Constitution.
            2) A progress report on the state of electricity, reliable Internet and telephone system as well as sustainable potable water supply system.
            3) Finally the construction of buildings must start in earnest and let RESPONSIBLE Eritrean and non Eritrean investors show us what they can do, of course with string adherence to all applicable codes and regulations.
Because as we all know, no DEVELOPMENT/INVESTMENT is likely to happen without the renovation of our infrastructure. PERIOD.
BTW, why are vehicles not allowed to get imported to our country? It has been, now – what, 5-6 years since I heard that it was prohibited. Does anybody know?

          2. Vehicles huh? Yes I heard that should be happening about the same time as the release of prisoners. Oh wait, about the same time when woyani is destroyed and new constitution is in place. Weyyy vehicle

          3. Once you are set-up or calibrated to hear or see one tone or sound, it is very hard to re-setup and re-condition a Human-being to the real senses where he can test , evaluate and make the decision. In most cases in the Habesha land (Ethiopia Mai-Tzelot- 2/7) cultural medication trials works most effectively to ones advantage.
For your information, when president Isaias makes an interview, every east African-leaders (English version), TPLF leaders (the whole Tigrai) if they don’t listen at it live, they go home in a safe place and listen to it From Tesfanews and of course the Tekuamerti (opposition) will be glued to the TV . When his excellence make an interview, he clarifies the objective situation of horn of Africa with a tangible prediction. Don’t expect him to tell you rumors, tabloids, and gossip.

          4. My favourite all time PIA’s quote…
Happy New Year to TN family…Listen to beautiful new year song.

          5. Massawa, I love the quote and the Wazema song — First time, will hear it again and again.
Nebsi, Happy New Year to you and your family too.

          6. Here are the Deki Halal Meriet dancing to the fame and glory of their country. Please play me the song of “Wazema” over and over again.

Here is you Deki Halal Mariet; just stay on course from the Promise Land is already here.

          7. When presidents give New Year speech, it is usually wishing their citizens good health and success; thanking the citizens (inside and abroad) for their hard work in developing and defending their home-land. Finally pointing out the challenges the country faces and what it takes for the people & government to solve the challenges. Unless there was some extraordinary thing that happened, the New Year Message by H.E. Isaias Afeworki will be very similar, if not identical. If you are a hater, you will still find ways to complain, and if you are supporter, it feels so good to listen the Lion of Nakfa, again,& again, …..

        2. I hope the President gives clarification regarding The Zara mine. Is it working? I remember when they said it was operational a year ago? What happened? Do we have two working mines or what? I also wish that our president started talking more in numbers. How high is our revenue, what about unemployment rate? How high are our expenses? Do we have a an economical plan to develop the country? We need statistics. But most of all. We need a definite answer regarding the work of our constitution! It’s been two and a half years now. It took us 3 years last time (1994-1997) and I expect it to be 50-70% finished. We need updates.

          1. Chinese companies normally do not publish reports or updates progress about their projects to the public online. But there are other ways people in the diaspora can learn if the mine is still in production:

            1) by reaching out to people working at the mine
            2) by following the number of job advertisements they posted on local news paper. The keep hiring people every week and for me, that is a sign of work in progress.
            3) by attending mining conferences like the annual Asmara Mining Conference

          2. “But there are other ways people in the diaspora can learn if the mine is still in production:

            1) by reaching out to people working at the mine
            2) by following the number of job advertisements they posted on local news paper. The keep hiring people every week and for me, that is a sign of work in progress”

You guys are beyond ridiculous, I occasionally drop in on the comments section for my own amusement since it’s full of buffoonish nonsense by regime apologists or clueless individuals trying to outdo each other. 🙂

          3. Dear Teafanews, are you serious? Why doesn’t the government just say that they have 2 working mines? Because the Chinese wants to keep it on the down low? The Chinese wants the world to know how powerful they are. They don’t want to keep it a secrecy..

          4. Sorry to disagree. When was the last time you heard about Sunridge Gold or the Asmara Project? Of course, it was till the Chinese acquire its 60% share. People like you and me who are not on the ground have no clue about the progress made by such Chinese companies after they bought out the companies. But that doesn’t mean the work has been stalled or not producing. For me, the best way to get as much info as I can is when the next mining conference was held in Asmara. Till then, bother less…

          5. Eza àlem kemza teri a, buzuh hassad iyu zelewa, just look what happen to S.Sudan, as soon as they start to deal with Chinese for oil, they suddenly start war..doesn’t tell you something?

          6. The reason why Nevsun and TN publishes many documents regarding the mine is because it’s a publicly traded company. There are many disclosures the company makes in regards to the mine development. But the Chinese is a state owned and information is kept private for political and economic reasons. There were pictures published here that showed a walk-through of the construction near complete.

      2. If i am not mistaken DUBAI AIR fly’s to Eritrean,i believe Dubai Air is a flagship of Emirates.I stand to be corrected.

        1. Yes, I flew with Dubai AIR this summer. You fly with Emirates from Europe to Dubai then you’re connected with Dubai AIR to Asmara. Emirates technically do fly to Asmara incooperation with Dubai AIR.

I like the sound of it. According to the artilcle, PIA and the Prince of Abu Dhabi are discussing cooperation agreements in the field of “politics, economics, and development.” I like it. Cooperation in politics is ok. Cooperation in economics is vitally important. Cooperation in development extremely important. So this is a good trip where PIA and the Prince are discussing some real business. Stuff that matters. Good job PIA. We are with you. You are us and we are you!!

Leaders sense opportunity and seize It!! and that exactly what our government is doing. And leasing Assab was a smart move. Well done.????????

Eritrea didn’t want to be isolated.. but the West make is seems tho, thru their media outlet propaganda and their puppets like Ethiopia and tiny-Djibouti. Djibouti severed its relations with Eritrea in-order Woyane to use its ports and of-course free trade with Ethiopia. And who can forget the Evil Axis Sannaa forum and through IGAD and AU to isolate Eritrea. Woyane-Tigray did everything in its power with the help of its handlers the West to isolate it, but thanks to our government that chain has been broken. ????????✊????
    And about development..

Eritrea has more than a $ Trillion worth Investment Potential in the next 5 years… Our government must use this opportunity… To develop Eritrea economy and stretch it to the next level.. Starting with 40% ownership for Eritrea and the other 60 to UAE is a win-win for long term. and bring the UAE to fund on this development like…

    1) Precious Metal Mining, 2) Potash Mining(200+ years of mine life–Colluli, Bada and vicinity) , 3) Oil and Gas exploration (ready now), 4) Huge Agricultural Potential, 5)Tourism, 6) Salt Industry, 7) Fishing Industry, 8) Red Sea Dam, 9) Denkalia Volcanic Energy Source etc.

Imagine building the Red-Sea dam 30% ERI and 70% UAE. Or the Denkalia Volcanic energy source. We have to start with something.

    1. Alec:
The 200 years plus Mine Life for Potash is ONLY for Culluli…and there was a reason why I mentioned 500 years after my face-to-face discussion with a guy from Min of Mining, who gave us a hint through his YouTube interview few years ago.
He hinted that Bada is the next and he said that both Bada and Culluli are only a fraction of the Denkalia Potash resources.
He boldly and confidently said that most of Denkalia Land is full of Potash.

    1. You can add Qatar and Saudi Arabia to that list of Eritrea’s Arab allies. Eritrea has struck multiple alliances for different purposes with different Arab countries without getting caught in the middle of all the Arab infighting.

    2. Take Egypt out of the equation mate, Egypt is as poor as Eritrea, Eritrea doesn’t need poor countries as an ally.

          1. TN when it comes to Egypt, they may not be blessed with natural resources. But they are the most intelligent people among Arab countries, and the cradle of civilization. As Eritreans we don’t believe in hand outs. But we could exchange so much knowledge transfer in all kinds of fields. But our beggar neighbor by the nic.The Last Warlord thinks we shouldn’t befriend a poor country like Egypt. What a difference of outlook in life between Eritreans and the low life WEYANE’S.

        1. “Dude, take out your hatred glass on Egypt, it blinds your objective thinking”
lol TN. You realize that’s exactly what you do about Ethiopia day in day out?

          1. The TPLF (not Ethiopia) is Eritrea’s number one enemy. We are duty bound to fight these criminal entities, on a daily basis, in whatever way possible, until they are all swept into the dustbin of history. Don’t forget that!

          2. ok if you differentiate between tplf and ethiopia, out of your 5000 articles on tplf and ethiopia, show me a single time where you said positive things about ethiopia?

  5. Some things to note about the UAE.., its the most progressive of the gulf monarchy. It is the only gulf state that is not completely oil dependent. Under the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi they have become a major transit hub and tourist haven. This is a great ally for Eritrea and i hope we continue to work together. Abu dhabi has become like the singapore of the middle east and i think we can learn alot from them in terms of building and rail ways etc.. They have built all of theirs in record time.

    1. Oil money is the key. Eritrea should develop it’s oil and gas potential with the help of the UAE as partner. UAE used its oil money to develop rapidly.

      1. UAE used oil money to diversify its economy. Australia used mining to diversify its economy. Eritrea has both mining + oil and gas deposits. So Eritrea can learn a lot from UAE’s experience. Massawa could be Dubai on the Red area in a short period. In fact, before Dubai took off, there was a plan to build a huge resort on the Dahlak Islands by an American in the mid 1990s. Does anyone recall?

Eritrea has huge tourism potential and HVS has been commissioned to prepare a feasibility study for Eritrea’s first internationally branded hotel. With strong existing demand from commercial travellers and diaspora, and the potential to develop a prosperous tourism industry in this beautiful yet undiscovered country, the prospects for the hotel industry are exciting.

Currently tourism to Eritrea is mainly around mining and business, but the future of tourism there will be leisure-based. It offers beautiful Red Sea islands around the coast and great diving locations. Inaccessibility is still a problem and US-led sanctions will need to be dropped, but nevertheless the potential exists and is starting to develop.
